The Tottenham based charity was selected following a review of local charitable causes by the sixth form, with the charity’s longstanding commitment to and strong evidence of supporting young people being cited as the reason for selection.

This year, Hope in Haringey is proud to announce that it has been selected by the students of London Academy of Excellence Tottenham (LAET) as Hartington House’s fundraising partner for the 2026/27 academic year. The decision marks an exciting new chapter in a relationship that has been growing for many years, bringing together a leading Tottenham sixth form college and a local charity committed to supporting young people and families across the borough.
When Hartington House student leaders began exploring local charities and causes to support, they. selected Hope in Haringey because of its significant local impact and longstanding commitment to supporting young people across Tottenham and Haringey.
The selection means that approximately 150 students will spend the academic year raising funds, building awareness, and learning more about the challenges facing their local community. Just as importantly, it provides an opportunity for young people to develop leadership, teamwork, and fundraising skills while making a tangible difference to the lives of others.
Following the announcement, Hope in Haringey’s Mentoring and Engagement Manager, Omar Alleyne-Lawler, was invited to speak to the entire Hartington House student body.
During the presentation, students learned more about the charity’s work across Haringey and the various ways they could get involved with the local charity. The session also encouraged students to think creatively about how they can use their existing talents and skills, networks, and enthusiasm to support causes that matter to them.
While this new fundraising partnership is exciting, the connection between Hope in Haringey and LAET is far from new.
Opening in 2017 following the redevelopment of Tottenham High Road, LAET would become the base for Hope in Haringey’s “HiT Family” meetings in 2018. By helping to foster collaboration and support within the local community, the venue provided a reliable event space for the charity as it launched community events such as the Haringey Youth Summit and Community Carols Service. More recently, students from the sixth form played a significant role in Hope in Haringey’s 2023 Photographic Art Exhibition, hosted at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
These shared experiences have laid the foundation for a relationship built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to supporting local people, one in which Hope in Haringey intends to nurture and see thrive in the coming academic year.
