By Omar Alleyne-Lawler, Mentoring and Engagements Manager
Demonstrating the Tottenham-based charity’s work across the last financial year, the 2025-2026 annual report showcases HiH’s work to enhance the life chances of young people between the ages of 4 and 24.
Outlining its charitable work delivered through its counselling, mentoring, youth and police engagement programmes, this newly published report highlights the challenges facing Haringey’s young people and its efforts to resolve them.
By forming strong partnering with schools, funders, volunteers and local organizations, the report paints a stark picture of the environment many young people are growing up in. Despite Haringey being one of the most deprived boroughs in England, this latest report shows Hope in Haringey has delivered some of its strongest outcomes to date.
Some highlights include:
- Providing more than 2,300 one-to-one counselling sessions that supported hundreds of students, parents and school staff in educational settings.
- The successful revitalization of the mentoring programme. Today, young people have access to mentors connected to 78 different industries, helping them build confidence, improve employability skills and explore future career pathways that may previously have felt out of reach.
- Hope in Haringey’s youth sports programme delivered more than 250 diversionary and wellbeing-focused sessions. These safe and inclusive spaces give young people opportunities to stay active, build friendships and develop positive routines while strengthening their physical and mental wellbeing.
Ultimately, the 2025-2026 Annual Report is more than a summary of statistics. At a time when many families continue to face economic uncertainty, rising mental health challenges and reduced access to opportunities, Hope in Haringey’s latest report demonstrates its ability to deliver community-centered approach to helping young people thrive.
