Hope in Tottenham is proud to announce the expansion of the HiT counselling project starting in September.

Thanks to a grant from the Haringey NHS CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group), we have been able to secure six more days per week of provision free at the point of delivery for three primary and three secondary Tottenham schools for this academic year.
Lockdown, the interruption of education and other stress caused by COVID-19 have all led to a rise in mental health concerns for our young people. This new grant seeks to address these issues, alongside extra monies provided to other charities such as MIND and Open Door.
This extra funding will be used by HiT to provide 4 to 5 students with up to a term’s worth of 1:1 sessions a day in new work at Park View Academy, Greig City Academy and the London Academy of Excellence. Development of groups, staff training and parental support will follow in the New Year. At the Willow, Seven Sisters and Tiverton primary schools we will add a second day to expand and develop the 1:1 work we already do there in original and creative ways, taking the number of students we help to over 400.
HiT Counselling manager Caroline Ajuna comments, ‘It is very encouraging that the work we are currently doing in 23 schools in Haringey has been recognised as so effective by the CCG they wish to add their financial support to help bring it to more young people at such a challenging time’.
