Hope in Haringey are celebrating a visit from former Deputy Prime Minster, David Lammy MP.

Organised and led by HiH’s Research and Mentoring Officers, Cuba Douglas and Oliva Hamm, Hope in Haringey’s Youth Officer team would get to meet Tottenham’s longstanding and most senior Parliamentary representative and his team at the charity’s Tottenham-based office.

Hope in Haringey’s Youth Officer team led on hosting a visit from longstanding Tottenham MP and former Deputy Prime Minister, David Lammy.

With Mr. Lammy taking a keen interest in the stories of HiH’s team and the work they deliver across Haringey, the discussion was “enthusiastic, engaging and enjoyable.”

As Haringey will be the next London Borough of Culture in 2027, the visit also served as an exciting platform for Hope in Haringey’s developing Youth Officer team to demonstrate how the Tottenham-based charity enhances the lives of Haringey’s young people, with project details shared about HiH’s works across Counselling, Youth Sports, Employability Mentoring and in its Haringey African Schools Partnership Project.

In response, Mr.Lammy would highlight the importance of celebrating the borough’s diverse communities and cultural identity.

On the visit, Cuba would say “We are grateful to Mr Lammy and his team for their time and for the opportunity to share our work, discuss our ambitions and explore how we can continue supporting young people across Haringey. We hope to welcome Mr Lammy back to Hope in Haringey in the future.”
