Hope in Haringey, working in collaboration with four key educational partners have recommenced its youth sports programme following the summer holiday break.

Delivering bespoke fitness focused sessions thanks to a two-year, £80,000 delivery grant from the London Marathon Fund, Hope in Haringey continues to reach a range of young people, including general intake, vulnerable and at-risk year groups. Furthermore, Hope in Haringey has committed to deliver dedicated sessions for nine boys and girls groups, ESOL students and the wider community.

The LMF funding has also enabled HiH to recruit new trainers, representative of the area such as Oliva, Tianna & Yamini, meaning our new delivery aligns with the expertise of this new staff.  The combination of these two factors means that Hope in Haringey are able to deliver boxercise classes, netball sessions, boys and girls fitness sessions, gym sessions and a fitness bootcamps.

With capacity to further expand the number of participating educational partners, HiH’s Counselling, Finance and Operations Manager, Tom May is in talks to onboard schools such as Dukes Aldridge Academy so that more local schools can join in the project and expand their range of sporting offers.

Additionally, this LMF grant backed project further enables Hope in Haringey to reach young people who may not typically receive sports or fitness support, enriching the life opportunities of young people in the borough.
