Hope in Haringey’s final Mentor Meet Up of the year returned to Highgate’s ‘The Woodman’ to celebrate the achievements of their mentors in 2024.

By Omar Alleyne-Lawler, Communications and Police Engagement Manager

Hope in Haringey’s biannual Mentor Meet Up returned to west Haringey this month, celebrating its volunteers in a night of networking and dining at The Woodman.

The meet-up extended invitations to prospective mentors, like Priscilla (Right) so they could meet and learn firsthand from our active volunteers.

Being the first Mentor Meet Up since Hannah’s departure earlier this year, November’s meet-up was the first under newly appointed Mentor Manager, Sansha Goddard. For some mentors, this event was their first opportunity to meet the manager in a casual setting.

Sansha, who took over the role in June, elected to keep the Mentor Meet Ups, seeing them as a great event where HiH’s most important volunteers can be celebrated.

Sitting down to dine at The Woodman, HiH welcomed mentors from a range of industries, bringing them together to share tips, successes, and ideas on how to be more effective mentors.

Mentors were hosted at The Woodman in the west Haringey edition of the Mentor Meet Up.

The Mentor Meet Up would also coincide with the release of the latest 23/24 Annual Report. Detailing the program’s successes between April 1st 2023 and March 2024, the Annual report gave further cause for celebration as the programme now boasts more than 130 active mentor pairings and has since featured in Highgate Buzz and The Mayfair Times magazines.
