In an intimate launch surrounded by close friends, Hannah Whitehead moves from her post as Community Manager at St James in Muswell Hill to Hope in Tottenham as Development Manager.
Having grown strongly in the past year, Hope in Tottenham has seen an increase in demand since the first lockdown of 2020. Now, with so many families still getting back on track, our Mentoring, Police Engagement and Counselling services have had to adapt, answering calls further west in the borough.
Reaching into Crouch End and Muswell Hill, Hope in Tottenham has had to expand internally to meet demand. Announcing the appointment of former Community Manager, Hannah Whitehead, it marks the first full-time appointment for the charity since its inception in 2014.
Having grown up in Haringey and worked in the borough for over a decade, Hannah has cultivated a unique knowledge North London. Working with faith organisations, Hannah has spearheaded projects which organise communities and deliver help to vulnerable people.
Bringing these connections, insights and experiences to Hope in Tottenham, Hannah will have the task of transforming HiT into Hope in Haringey by the middle of next year. She will bring about a new, pan-borough identity to the charity which seeks to lessen the historic divide between the East and West portions of our community. Along the way, Hannah will work to enact HiT’s mandate of addressing inequality and opportunity disparities that affect young people over the course of their lives.
Hannah said; “I’m excited about getting started. I’ll be working with all four parts of Hope in Tottenham, developing [the programmes] so they can meet capacity and be ready for the future.”
The Development Manager role looks to be vital for Hope in Tottenham’s future, as Hannah’s appointment offers to bolster all four of the charities programmes. She will initially be supporting the Director by consolidating the current and ever-growing projects, preparing a template for further, sustainable expansion in the future.
Director Wood on Hannah’s appointment: “Hannah’s appointment is critical for our next phase and we know Hannah is the right person to help with it.
