Employability Mentoring at Hope in Haringey will be an even stronger programme going into 2025 as the charity responds to Mentor feedback, delivering its first workshop at Waltham Forest College.

Hope in Haringey’s mentoring programme delivered its first mentee preparation workshop at Waltham Forest College this month, outlining mentee expectations when joining the programme.

Led by guest speaker, and HiH Mentor, Priscilla; the trainer and coach spoke with 24 Criminology, Law and Psychology students about how mentoring functions, benefits their career progression & what their expectations are to fulfil as mentees.

The change comes in response to mentor feedback, with mentors expressing that they wished mentees were better prepared ahead of their pairings.

As such, this guest talk was an evolution of previous mentee recruitment talks, with the hour more focused on outlining the participation required from mentees as well as the benefits of mentoring and how to sign up.

The changes hope to make the future of mentoring pairings smoother in 2025.
